Irritations

So I go downstairs to get my drinks/lunch ready for work this morning, to discover that my roommate had left the freezer hanging wide open last night, so everything inside the freezer was totally thawed, dripping. I had no ice for my 3 liters of drink I must have my ice for in order to drink. Food ruined I'm sure. Fruit for smoothies all dripping and warm. Turkey meat thawed and ready to brown... So, made myself a very warm smoothie. Hopped on the metro and started feeling sick.

So, at least I have a great day to look ahead for. Fun times at work. Tonight I'm going to see the Salerno-Sonnenberg performance (a violinist) at the Kennedy Center. Tomorrow I'm going to a theater productionThe Beaux' Stratagem at The Lansburgh Theatre. Both with the new guy! WHOOOOOHOOOOO! So... I hope the day turns out better than the morning did...

Moving On

So, it's been a while since I last posted, and figured it was high time to write SOMETHING! :)

Traffic in the dc area just sucks. There's nothing else to say about that. I work about 15 miles down the road, which would take about 15-20 minutes if there were a normal amount of traffic! But, since it's DC, and congested, the 15 mile trip takes me up to 1.5 hrs one way, almost every day! Taking the metro or driving is a gamble, because some days, driving only takes 45 minutes, just like the metro. Whereas other days, even the metro someone leaves an unlabled box to freak everyone out, and all the lines stop running due to the threat, and it can take forever too!

Anyhoo.... enough about the hours I spend each day commuting. :) Lets get on to more juicy stuff!

I have started playing in a Tango band of sorts. There are 4 of us, 3 of them (not me) are professional musicians. We have a keyboard, base, guitar, who also plays harmonica. Quite a talented bunch. The sad news is, Me being violin means I have the melody/main parts, and I'm the least talented of the bunch... seeing as how I'm not professional and all. But I really enjoy playing again, and learning how to be creative with the rythm and harmony (don't follow the music!!!)

I am finishing up a water aerobics class next week. Been going on for the past 4 months or so. I am the only young one, and the only small one (relatively speaking). I learned that the deep water aerobics is better than the normal one, so if I ever take a class again (i.e. if I get a group of friends to take it with me) then it will have to be deep water.

On the social note, I am starting to date this new guy, and he is even in my religion (so I don't have to try and teach him about it!). The initial few dates were super hard, as I kept missing the ex, and comparing them. Longing for the committed companionship I had, but being thrust into the beginning superficial stages with someone new I didn't know yet. But I had already done a lot of grieving, so starting to date someone else only made me realize I had to speed up the process, and it has definitely been helpful. Who knows what will happen, but the good news is, I am moving on. Less and less I think about the ex. People are noticing that I seem happier. My energy for life is returning, so watch out world!!!!
