Larry started singing that song the other night: back to life, back to reality... and now it's just rumbling around in my head and won't get out. But, it fits for a good subject heading to an entry for this blog. :)
I guess I should say that I'm now healthy. It took a long time though. 3 weeks of being pretty darn sick. Almost made an ER visit after feeling my brain was swelling and bruising and unable to see (basically, that funky flue bug turned into a sinus and ear infection which were triggering migraines). So, after 12 days of pretty strong antibiotics, I'm back on the healthy train. :) I spent almost an entire month doing nothing but working and going home to "rest" in my sick condition. It was very strange to not go out, not dance, not go to meditation, not interact with friends, not take care of chores, etc. So, the day I was back on my feet, I was thrilled to get dancing and socializing again! :)
I even did a few crazy things. Like buy a microwave/hood for my kitchen (which is now shorting out the upstairs bedroom and downstairs kitchen lights). Also bought an elliptical. A very expensive one. I had done the research, and wanted to buy a very cheap one, but realized after reading up on them, that if I buy a cheap one, it will break down in a few months of consistent use. I'm a consistent user, so I rationalized spending more money for one that was supposedly going to last. There is a long drama of how I actually had the thing delivered... but the end of the story is, I have a lovely new HUGE elliptical in my bedroom. So, I now have more projects. Like selling my antique dresser and antique armoire and exercise bike to make room for this huge piece of equipment. I also am hiring a closet consultant person to look at my closet so I can get it organized and highly maximize the space... so that I can have living space that feels more open.
Wow, so why am I spending so much money? Especially when I don't have money? Well, I have this funny habit. When I balance my checkbook, and realize I'm in the negative, I tend to rebel by going out and spending more money, rather than keeping it in check. So, I got very stressed about money recently, and thus all the big purchases... it's quite embarrasing, and definitely not a habit I want to foster. But, I am glad to have the new purchases, if only my house would accomodate them all! :)
So, I've created more projects for myself. So my goal for this week is to find out how to sell antiques. Post my bike on craigslist. Move towards getting my home back in order again, so it feels and looks nice. :)
