Cutest Day!

DANG!!! My camera busted today. Don't know what's wrong with it, but it ain't workin', and such a sad day to stop working!

It was gorgeous and warm, so Kaleb, our little guy that LOVES to be naked, had his chance to have free legs and arms and toes today! I put him in his "PARTY ANIMAL" short sleeved onsie, some denim shorts, and a baseball cap and we went outside to lay on the grass (blankets between us of course!). That little boy was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE! Very happy to be flailing his arms and legs about in the breeze (we were thankfully in the shade) with no clothes on but what I just described. Originally, he had socks on, but once I took them off, he smiled up a storm and it was obvious he enjoyed them being OFF! I wouldn't have to write so much here, if only I had my camera that was workin'....

He was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!

Kaleb with Family :)

April 5th we went to see family in Frederick. I just got some pics and wanted to post, because of course we LOVE our DARLING baby, even if they aren't the greatest of smiles :) here is Kaleb with daddy and cousin Tyler! Kissing Tyler! (ok, maybe not, but it looks like it!) He's at least slobbering on his sunburnt face

Aunt Nancy and our cutie pie!

Grandpa and his little man...

Nothin' is ever easy with me

You would think a random drug test (for work) only involves the inconvenience of going to the lab, peeing in a cup, and heading back to work.

Not for me! Of course. I get there at 7am, and ATTEMPT to fill to the line. No where close! So, after 5 minutes the door opens, and I have to drink and drink and drink. 20 minutes later, I try again. Again, NOTHING. 3 times, I try, and NOTHING. So, I have now drunk TONS of water. Sat for 2 hrs, trying to use the bathroom in vain, before I finally get to do the SIMPLE task of peeing in a cup before I go in to work. But, since I drank so much water, now that I sit in my car, it finally all hits. I'm dancing in my car seat, wiggling, it's raining outside, traffic jams on 66 and Fairfax county parkway, and I can't get to work fast enough! And I'm more than 2 hrs late for work... Nice way to start the day! :)

I'm beginning to see why mom's need to be superheros

I'm not saying I AM a superhero by any means, but the feats that must be accomplished, sometimes on a daily basis are making be WISH I was a superhero. :)

Let me just review the SUNDAY schedule (what I remember anyway).
4am (I'll spare you the Midnight to 4pm schedule, but it wasn't pretty) FEEDING, then change a nasty diaper, and try to get the little guy to go back to sleep.
6: fussing and trying to get him back to sleep, constantly sticking the pacifier in the mouth
7: pumping
7:30-8:30 shower while trying to entertain the little guy through singing, feed him (not me), change (both of us naturally), wish I had time to prepare my lesson for church, load up a million bags for the day (i.e. church bag, pumping bag, diaper bag, clothes changing for Easter bag, taxes bag, etc. dessert for Easter lunch)
9-11:45 (should be 12, but here we go..) church, and a lesson I had to teach with only having read it 2x the day before while trying to console a crying or fussing baby, or light napping one)
11:45 skip out on church (and my lesson) early to do the following: sit in the backseat while Larry drove to DC, and I sat with a sheet over my head, trying to PUMP in the car, while holding Kaleb's pacifier in while he fussed, figure out what to do with bloody milk while under a sheet and needing 3 more hands, once that fiasco was done, feed Kaleb a bottle while he was sitting in his car seat, and try to keep him from fussing too much during the long drive.
1PM made it to our apt despite the cherry blossom festival traffic in downtown DC to see Donna AGAIN. *** (See story below) Kaleb contentedly talked to a lady sitting next to me in the office, which was quite adorable. :) Then, we headed off to Annapolis for EASTER. :)
2pm was lunch in Annapolis, but we made it there about 2:45-3ish. Got to show off our little cutie pie to his uncles for the first time, but due to his car ride and such, he was now a little fussy. Cody was trying to hold him to look into his eyes, and Kaleb had discovered the GOLFING (masters) on the big TV screen, and wouldn't be deterred (OH NO, what am I in for?) as Cody spun around, trying to get Kaleb's eyes, Kaleb turned his head to keep in line with the TV. It was actually quite funny, but oh boy, is that kid going to love sports, or TV more?

The rest of the schedule continues, as you would expect, trying to get our cutie to go to sleep in new surroundings with lots of noise and kids running around, blah blah, so I'll stop the tirade here. (at least about this). The bottom line? I could have used TONS more hands, tons more time, but had to survive with only 2 hands and the 24 hrs allotted... Thankfully we made it ok, with only a few battle wounds... And I wish I could be a supermom...

**The reason we had to see Donna, our CPA. My company got us our W2's late this year. Thankfully, we had them barely in time to do our February tax apt with Donna. So, Larry and I pack up our 1 month old (or less at that time) baby who cried and screamed not only while driving there, but also waiting forever in the crowded cramped office, and the drive back). At that time, we discovered that my W2 forms were incorrectly done. Donna told us to call my work and have them give me corrected ones, which should only take a day or so, per Donna, and then come back to see her to complete our taxes. I attempted to request corrected W2s, but long story short, spun my wheels, didn't get responses no matter who I talked to (always passing the buck as it wasn't their job) and Finally, with the pressure from my supervisor and the VP, got a corrected W2 form late Fri night. So, Donna squeezed us in on Sun afternoon, as taxes are due Wednesday... WE push our crazy schedule to get there, we sit and wait in a crowded room, finally when she sees us, tells us the W2 forms are STILL grossly incorrect, and in the 50,000 returns she's done, she's never seen one so messed up. And I worked so hard, putting tons of pressure on various people just to get the one we did get! And now, we have to go BACK AGAIN, 3rd time with our baby into DC just to get our taxes done. Larry swears he is going to do them himself next year... And our trip was in vain. Still can't do my taxes, still have incorrect W2s, who knows if I'll ever get a corrected one, so who knows when we'll be able to complete our taxes...

Guess how the thermometer got broken? :)

Due to being in Daycare, Kaleb has had a constant runny nose/mucus issue since he started. He's also been suffering from a gastrointestinal virus, in addition to the baseline stuff with reflux and colic. So, needless to say, he's been suffering, poor little dear. And fevers on and off.

larry and I have refrained from doing the rectal temperature reading, and have struggled to get good readings using it under his arm. But, we finally gave in. The other day, we had our plan. I held Kaleb's arms, and legs while Larry got down on his knees, put Vaseline on the thermometer, and stuck it in... Face right there so it was all at eye level. From MY perspective, what I saw, was a huge streak of black/brown/green stuff shoot out across the changing table toward larry, the thermometer flying. I started laughing hysterically. It was only funny from my perspective of course, as I'm guessing larry's point of view was much scarier. :P

After all was said and done, we had to throw the thermometer away, as it held nasty poop INSIDE The glass. Wow, kaleb sure knows how to do a job right!!! :) And no pictures for this one, sorry! :)

I've been ROBBED!

I got in my car this morning to go to work, and instantly was accosted with the smell of smoke. Like BAD, not even faint. I had to look around to see if someone was smoking IN MY CAR, it was that strong. Not a good sign. I wanted to chalk it up to maybe someone smoking outside the car and there was a little left over nasty smell. But as I drove, my eyes were stinging, throat burning (I'm allergic to smoke) and it was getting worse. Windows down, freezing weather at 6:30am. Well, I was still trying to come up with some valid reason why my car smelled so badly of smoke. But I looked down, and ALL my favorite Cd's were gone. And the bottled water of all things. The baby seat, they left. The stroller, they left. The trash, they left, thanks! My guess is (due to the strong fragrance left in my car) is that whoever it was, spent the night in there, and smoked in there. I SWORE I locked the door when I came back from our walk with Kaleb after work last night, but apparently I didn't, or they got in somehow. Luckily, my work badge which I normally leave in the car, I had accidentally taken in with me last night, so no identity issues there, thankfully. So, now I have to figure out how to get that NASTY STRONG HORRIBLE smell out of the car, and sadly, miss all those fabulous Cd's (about 20 of them!). At least it wasn't the house, right?!

Update

Wow has life changed! Right now Larry is playing guitar hero (world tour), Kaleb is swinging in a state of semi-sleep, and I just finished cleaning the kitchen from a night of fun with 2 other couples and their babies. A year ago, I would have been out dancing. Now, I am a huge fat slob who talks about poopies and feedings and talks baby talk...
I still have 40 lbs to loose, and it's quite depressing, as it isn't budging. (Still bleeding and not being allowed to exercise doesn't help much either). I don't keep my house as clean as I used to, or would like. I have baby junk everywhere, and it goes 2 weeks before I vacuum sometimes! And don't even ask about the bathrooms... (thus the comment about being a slob!).
And I am back at work... And daycare has finally seen the Kaleb I was telling them about. Honeymoon over. For about 1.5 weeks, they only reported his darlingness, and how adorable he was, and they loved him. I was beginning to feel horrible, thankful that he was happy at daycare, but feeling like a terrible mom, as he loved daycare, and didn't seem to love being home with mommy... My insecurities of being a mom were definitely out there. But Thursday last week, I went to pick him up to find frazzled workers. They said, "We finally know what you were talking about!" Other comments were made as well, indicating that he had shown his true colors that day, and they didn't know what to do, or what to think! And the next day, I got a call around lunch that actually sent me home from work early, to get him into the doc on an emergency basis. Come to find out, the doc and me both think daycare must have exaggerated, but my darling Kaleb has a gastrointestinal virus that causes problems with both eating and pooping and acid burns on his little butt... My little guy is still suffering from mucus (daddy has bronchitis and I have sinus infection, so of course he has mucus too!), still suffering from reflux, colic, and now this virus. Poor little dear!
But, we get happy times. If he's screaming, just put him on the changing table, get his little feet out of his sleeper, and drum roll....

HAPPY BABY AGAIN!

Our Happy Baby

Kaleb was supervising Daddy washing the dishes, as he IS the KING of the house these days... (Kaleb that is...)

Our little guy is going to be a nudist someday. He LOVES to be naked, and we get the best and most smiles out of him when he gets his diaper changed. :) And he also loves Patty Cake!

Daddy's amazing photography

Can you believe Larry got these shots WHILE Kaleb was SWINGING? :)
