Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so excited for thanksgiving. more than usual this year. I think the main reason I'm so excited for thanksgiving, is that it's a nice short break from work. and work is so very stressful, and toxic, and a place I am detesting.

This is very sad, as 1 yr ago, I really loved my job. I enjoyed my tasks, the environment, the supervisor. It was a HUGE change from the job I had just left, which was unethical, fraudulent, and toxic. I took over 15000 pay cut to come to my current job, and loved it for the first year or so. But, in Aug, there was some major restructuring. Laid off over 50 people. Expected 5 of us to do what 25 people did. But with unreasonable expectations and lack of support or understanding. The supervisor people got even worse, and it seems they seem to make it even worse than it has to be. No support. No understanding, just unreasonable expectations and backstabbing. And then add on the huge task loads that are unbearable. and my job has shifted into something I don't like doing any longer... And my supervisor, who was my best friend, has now become my enemy, which is very very very sad. It's a huge loss in many ways.

So, needless to say, I need a new job. I have a job interview in a week at a place that does the same kind of thing that I'm doing now, but it's forever away. My 1.25 hour commute in the morning would turn into a 2-3 hr commute, unless I can get them to let me telecommute, and work from home. That is the only reason I plan on going to the interview, to see if I can get them to agree to working from home. :) If not, then there is no point pursuing that option further...

But, unfortunately, that is my only option at the moment. I would really like to have more options, but until Larry sells his place, I cannot get creative (i.e. work part time as an eap worker and build up my private practice which would be more lucrative anyway) as we need secure income as we are not covering our bills as it is. So... fingers are crossed, and if you know of anything, LET ME KNOW! :)

So, back to Thanksgiving. :) I heard about this book on the radio, called "Thank You Power" by Debrah Norville. So, I bought it. And I've read it. It's a simple concept that I've always believed, but reading about it only reminds me to really follow it. So, since I've read it, I've tried to make a point of noticing the things each day that I am grateful for. And thanking God for it. It really does help, as things get so tough, and remembering what makes me smile or things I really love helps me deal with all the crap I'm dealing with. So, I've read the book in perfect timing for Thanksgiving.

Since I could use a reminder right now, let me start listing some of the things I have been grateful for of late. :) I LOVE absolutely LOVE sunshine. There is just something so warm and soothing and happy about sunshine. I love beautiful weather (and at least right now I can remember lovely weather not that long ago). I love the ability to use my body, to walk, to move, to smell, to cook, to take care of myself, enjoy my senses like smelling and touch and sight. I love having a brain that works for the most part, where I can think, I can learn, I can analyze. I enjoy loving others, which include a whole list of people: larry, my family, his family, my kitties, friends, and people I can anonymously serve. I love my belief in God, and that He loves me and has a plan for all of us, and that I can talk to Him to figure out what some of those plans and things are... I'm grateful for some of the promises that have been made by God, which I won't go into here. I'm grateful that I have a job, even though I'm not happy with it at the moment. At least I have some income to help with paying the bills... I'm thankful I have a car to transport me around, despite some of the stresses around the car. :) I'm thankful I have a little condo to reside in, that even though it's not at my expectation of cleanliness at the moment, it's a place to call home, and I can find happiness in it. I'm thankful for the beauty in the world, especially right now where I drive and am surrounded by gorgeous fall colors on the trees, that is so breathtaking! I could probably list more, but should probably move on to other things. :) Like work...

but, I would highly recommend looking for the little things each day that make each one of us grateful! It's quite helpful in dealing with all the stress! :)

And, Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Getting back on track

So, Now that the wedding is all over, the honeymoon is over, and both Larry and I are recovering from a 2 week illness brought on from a viris from costa rica, we are going to start getting back into real life. :)

I haven't written in a while, not that anyone reads this, but figured I need to at least say something! :)

Yup, we got married Oct 20th. THen, went to costa rica for a week, where we had AWFUL accomodations, but a gorgeous view, and lots of fun outings (to get us out of the nasty accomodations). WE went on the zip lines twice, we went white water river rafting, we went on ATVs through mud and countryside, boat rides, jet ski's. The activities were definitely a blast! :) We will NEVER recomend going to allegra pappagayo occidental resort though. absolutely NOT!

We got home, and Larry got quite sick, it took him over 2 weeks to start feeling normal again. About 1 week into his illness, I finally caught it. I'm still on the tail end, not feeling normal yet, but at least as of today, I can tell I'm on the upswing and getting better. :) thankfully!

We still don't have our wedding pictures yet (people keep asking) as Larry's sister probably won't have them to us until she gets a break at the holidays. But, if you have pictures from it, please forward! :) I'd love to see them!

Also, if you know of any jobs I might be interested in, please forward the information! FAST! :) I won't go into detail now, but I am definitely on the look out for a better situation.

So, Larry's place has been on the market since Aug, and he still hasn't sold it. paying 2 mortages in the dc area is unreal, and he keeps dropping the price, hoping to sell. at this point, when it does sell, we are going to have to take out another huge loan (30,000 or more) to cover the loss on the mortgage. How sad is that??? we are praying fervently he can sell it quickly, and that someday, we'll get out of debt. :)

I'm sure I have more news to post, but don't have time. Hopefully, once I get into routines, can turn this place into a better posting place! :) he he he. yeah right...
